Metadata Stripper

See the GPS, camera, author and other hidden metadata in a JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or PDF, then download a clean copy.

Source

After stripping

Open an image or PDF to see what it says about you, then download a clean copy.

Runs in your browser; nothing you enter leaves this page.

How it works

What it finds

Open a file and the tool lists what it carries: GPS position and time, camera and lens with serial numbers, owner name, capture and edit dates, software, author, copyright, comments, embedded thumbnails, vendor MakerNote data, IPTC, XMP, the colour profile and Content Credentials (C2PA). A PDF shows its title, author, creator, producer and dates.

A location is shown with a link to OpenStreetMap, so you can see how precisely a photo gives away where it was taken.

Stripping

Download removes those blocks and shows a before and after table: each block is marked Found, then Removed or Still there. Image data is not touched where the format allows removing blocks directly.

Keep colour profile leaves the ICC profile in place so colours stay true; it holds nothing about you. Stripping also removes C2PA, so signed edit history is lost.
