Self-hosting & VPS

Everything on this site runs on a VPS I manage myself: Next.js behind nginx and PM2, with Cloudflare in front of it. This topic collects what that takes in practice, from patching and exposure checks to deployment, monitoring and knowing whether a server is healthy. There is no platform team or managed host behind it, so every outage, upgrade and misconfigured header is mine to find and fix, and the posts record how I did it. It is also where I write about Daminus, an open-source macOS app I am building to check the servers behind web projects over plain SSH, agentless and read-only.
