Audio Extractor

Pull the soundtrack out of a video as WAV, M4A, Ogg or FLAC, in your browser.

Audio

Format

WAV is uncompressed and always works. M4A, Ogg and FLAC need an encoder in your browser; unavailable ones are greyed out.

Runs in your browser; nothing you enter leaves this page.

How it works

What happens

The video is opened with mediabunny, the video track is dropped and the first audio track is written into an audio-only file. When the source audio is already in the format you pick (AAC to M4A, Opus to Ogg), its packets are copied without re-encoding; otherwise it is decoded and encoded again with your browser's WebCodecs encoders.

Which format

WAV is uncompressed 16-bit PCM: large, lossless and opened by everything. FLAC is lossless and about half the size. M4A (AAC) and Ogg (Opus) are small and lossy. Formats your browser has no encoder for are greyed out.
