How it works

Reading one pixel

The image is drawn on a canvas at its own size (shrunk only above 4096 px on the long edge), and the pixel under the pointer is read exactly. Its colour shows as HEX, RGB, HSL and the other notations, with the nearest colour name.

On a touch screen tap to read. With a keyboard, focus the picture, move with the arrow keys (Shift for ten pixels) and press Enter to keep.

Keeping colours

Click or press Enter to add the colour under the pointer to the kept list. Each kept colour has a copy button, and the list downloads as a JSON array of HEX codes.
