Instagram sizes
The tool knows 6 places on Instagram where you upload a picture, and frames your photo for each one:
Profile picture: 320 × 320 px
Square post: 1,080 × 1,080 px
Portrait post (4:5): 1,080 × 1,350 px
Portrait post (3:4): 1,080 × 1,440 px
Landscape post: 1,080 × 566 px
Story / Reel cover: 1,080 × 1,920 px
Framing and saving
The photo is scaled up just enough to cover the frame, and the part you see is what is saved. Drag the picture, nudge it with the arrow keys, zoom in with the slider, or rotate it a quarter turn. In the case of profile picture, the output is 320 × 320 px.
Choose PNG for a lossless file or JPEG for a smaller one, then download one size, or every size for the platform in a single zip.
