How it works
GitHub sizes
The tool knows 3 places on GitHub where you upload a picture, and frames your photo for each one:
Profile picture: 500 × 500 px
Organisation avatar: 500 × 500 px
Repository social preview: 1,280 × 640 px
Framing and saving
The photo is scaled up just enough to cover the frame, and the part you see is what is saved. Drag the picture, nudge it with the arrow keys, zoom in with the slider, or rotate it a quarter turn. In the case of profile picture, the output is 500 × 500 px.
Choose PNG for a lossless file or JPEG for a smaller one, then download one size, or every size for the platform in a single zip.
