How it works
How detection works
Our server fetches the page's HTML once (no JavaScript runs) and matches it against our own signature list: the script hosts, global functions and ID formats of about fifty analytics tools, tag managers, ad pixels, session recorders and consent managers. Each match shows the text it was found in, and IDs such as G- measurement IDs, GTM- containers or Meta Pixel IDs are pulled out.
Privacy classes and the tracking level
Each tool carries a class. Cookieless tools (Plausible, Fathom, Simple Analytics, Umami, Cloudflare and Vercel Web Analytics and similar) count visits without identifying people. Standard tools (Google Analytics, Matomo, Mixpanel and the like) usually set cookies and follow a visitor across visits. Invasive tools (ad pixels, session recorders) share data with ad networks or record what visitors do.
The page's tracking level is the heaviest class present: low, medium or high, or none found.
